JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Bartender
REPORTS TO: Manager
JOB SUMMARY: The Bartender will be responsible for providing superior hospitable beverage service while maintaining the inventory and cleanliness of bar, applying T.I.P.S training and assisting team members in any emergency situation.
Other Responsibilities will include:
§ Safety-oriented in his/her approach to this job. The safety/emergency response aspect must be first and foremost in the Bartender’s mind;
§ Dealing with guests and providing superior hospitable beverage service;
§ Creating alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages exceeding customers’ needs and expectations;
§ Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving drinks;
§ Assessing customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations;
§ Mixing ingredients to prepare cocktails;
§ Checking customers’ identification to confirm they meet legal drinking age;
§ Maintaining the cleanliness and inventory levels of the bar area prior to and during an event and restocking and cleaning after each event;
§ Following all relevant health department rules/regulations and customer service guidelines;
§ Any other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
§ A minimum of 2 years’ of proven experience working within the bar service industry which would include having an excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks;
§ Must be T. I. P. S. certified and have First Aid and CPR certifications;
§ High School Diploma or equivalent;
§ Must be computer literate;
§ Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers;
§ Must be extremely personable and able to deal successfully one-on-one with clients;
§ A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
§ Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
§ Willingness to work additional hours as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met;
§ This is a hands-on position and candidates must be physically able to complete the duties as required.
