POSITION: Honda Certified Marine Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
JOB SUMMARY: Install new Honda engines, troubleshoot, repair and maintain engine equipment and systems.
Responsibilities will include:
§ Determine and order specific parts, supplies and material requirements;
§ Support on-land vessel dry dockings as well as maintenance and repairs on other equipment and systems;
§ Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Company procedures, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements;
§ Conduct general vessel inspections;
§ Ensure all tasks are preformed within the appropriate pollution control guidelines;
§ Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
§ All candidates must have a Honda Marine Certification
§ 5+ years of post-qualifying work experience and technical training in the role;
§ Any other recognized marine trade certification as a Marine Mechanic, working on service, maintenance and repairs to a range of power and sail craft is a plus;
§ Working knowledge on troubleshooting and overhauling inboard and outboard engines, generators and other systems;
§ Ability to read and interpret manuals, exploded view diagrams, engineering sketches, charts, and work orders;
§ Accurately maintain all required records;
§ The ability to estimate new work;
§ Highly motivated, punctual, well organized and a disciplined approach to work;
§ Strong diagnostic and analytical skills;
§ Willingness to invest time in sharing your skills with colleagues in training;
§ Professional skills to liaise with customers as part of working on their vessels and a readiness to act as an ambassador for the Company at all times;
§ Must have the ability to drive a truck and work boat;
§ Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position;
§ Must be prepared to be called out at all hours;
§ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
§ A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
§ Must have own transportation and a clean driving record.
