Bermuda Divers Ltd. is looking to hire a Marine Upholsterer. The successful candidate will make, restore, or create custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods;
Other Responsibilities will include:· Repair furniture or upholstery;
· Discuss upholstery fabrics, colors, and styles with customers, and provide cost estimates;
· Estimate costs of products, services, or materials;
· Confer with management or designers to determine order specifications;
· Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, or staples;
· Mount materials or workpieces onto production equipment;
· Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly;
· Build furniture up with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, or foam padding to form smooth, rounded surfaces;
· Assemble garments or textile products;
· Repair furniture or upholstery;
· Draw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints, using chalk, pencils, paint, or other methods;
· Draw guide lines or markings on materials or workpieces using patterns or other references;
· Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material.
· Any other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent;
· Three to five (3 to 5) years’ experience in a similar role;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
· A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
· Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
· Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position;
Must have up to date certificates
Clean criminal record.
The successful candidate must be willing to work shifts including evenings and holidays.
Pre-employment drug testing will be administered.
