POSITION:
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day-to-day, land/water-based running of charters/events or other business required of the company from time-to-time. Including but not limited to; vessel management, managing events, managing teams, sales and conversions, concierge services, solving problems, one-on-one interaction with clients, understanding environmental and physical restraints of executing events in different environments especially the nuances of events held on a yacht.
Other Responsibilities will include:
§ Upselling and signing contracts;
§ Successfully handling all customer’s queries;
§ Greeting guests upon arrival;
§ Managing contracted events from start to finish;
§ Hands-on running of all aspects of hospitality service including catering and bar;
§ Day-to-day profit and loss responsibility;
§ Inventory management;
§ Overseeing onboard safety tasks in an emergency;
§ Coordinating with crew for Emergency Training and Services as required;
§ Supporting the exterior crew as needed;
§ Maintaining safe, secure and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing safety standards and procedures;
§ Complying with legal regulations;
§ Managing, motivating, disciplining, training and inducting all staff/crew current and new staff;
§ Managing and monitoring performance of all staff/crew including conducting feedback for probationary and performance reviews;
§ Maintaining staff/crew administrative records such as timekeeping, absenteeism and disciplinary issues;
§ Any other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
§ A Bachelor’s Degree;
§ A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the service industry with a minimum of two year’s working on boats;
§ Prior experience with planning events is a must;
§ STCW - Standards of Training and Certification of Watch Keeping;
§ First Aid, CPR, O2 certifications;
§ Must be extremely personable and able to deal successfully one on one with clients;
§ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
§ Full working knowledge of a yacht and its operating systems. Proficiency with exterior lines and fenders;
§ Must have an excellent command of both spoken and written English;
§ Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position;
§ A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
§ Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
§ Willingness to work additional hours as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met.
§ This is a hands-on position and candidates must be physically able to complete the duties as required.
